Passover greetings to all our Jewish friends and neighbors.

Elsie Fetterman of Amherst sent a card of the old city of Jerusalem from Jerusalem, Israel. She was visiting three generations of her family and attended the Bat Mitzvah of her great-granddaughter.

Her next stop was Greece.

April is Arbor month in Amherst, according to the Select Board. We also have Daffodils Days courtesy of the Business Improvement District with games on the Common on Sundays, a chalk walk and the Daffodil Road Race and Walk to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. Check the website for details. When you get to the first page, tap the green square with three parallel bars, then go to the events link.

More April news. The middle of the month, the first dandelions make an appearance and later in the month the bobcats and coyotes have their young. I have seen my coyote travel the backyards of Pondview and Deepwoods Drive homes at various times during the day. I don't have the courage to tell the critter that it is trespassing on private property.

Before the weekend snow/rain/sleet, I hung out laundry for the first time on a 50 degree sunny day. The sheets dried beautifully.
