On an early afternoon last week, Jack Radner and his children, Phoebe, 2½, and Gus, 5, of Wendell read “Peter Pan,” a book they selected from a small library in the cafe of the Village Coop in Leverett. The trio, with no work or preschool obligations this day, had just read “Mr. Clumsy” after having a snack at the market and health food store. The co-operative, tucked away near the corner of Rattlesnake Gutter and North Leverett roads, has been a fixture in the area since the late 1970s.
