HADLEY — A car crashed on Hockanum Road Tuesday evening at around 6, likely because of snowy conditions, according to police.

“The vehicle operator lost control of the vehicle and went sideways into a tree,” the Hadley Police Department wrote on its Facebook page. “The operator was the only occupant in the vehicle, and the Jaws of Life were required to free her.”

The post said that the female driver was injured in the crash, and was transported to Baystate Medical Center.

“The injuries do not appear to be life threatening,” the post reads.

Police officer Janelle Seitz told the Gazette over the phone that crash probably was due to poor road conditions amid a snowstorm. She said no further updates were available late Tuesday evening.
