Three Kings greetings to all our Hispanic and Latino friends and neighbors.

Amherst had a white Christmas after all. Granted, it was a dusting but it did cover my driveway and lasted until midday. Then the bigger snow came on Thursday, which made us look like a winter wonderland.

Denny Jones of Amherst (and Florida) came to the office to deliver an invitation to all Amherst High School/Regional High School grads, staff and their friends to attend a Florida reunion Jan. 19 from noon until 3:30 p.m. at the Island Way Grill in Clearwater Beach. The cost is $17. There is a choice of four entrees.

Art Giannetti of Oldsmar, Fla., needs reservations by Jan. 12. Call him at 813-854-3253 or email artthewop@tampabay.rr.com.

There has been a Florida reunion for Amherst-area snowbirds and retirees for many years. I even had a postcard once from a group who attended. (Hint.)

The Amherst Regional High School Chorale will host its annual Cabaret Jan. 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 6 at 3 and 7 p.m. at the high school. It’s a benefit for the group, which is conducted by Anita Cooper. Reserved seats cost more than the regular seats. Refreshments are sold. It’s a nice way for the students to display their talents.

For reservations email Anita at coopera@arps.org.

Barbara Jenkins of Pelham sent me an email about some good news. She wrote that Pastor Steven Wilco from Immanuel Lutheran Church reports that the monetary offering at the recent Interfaith Thanksgiving Service held at the church raised $503 for Craig’s Doors, Amherst’s emergency shelter. Also, as part of the offering, several buckets of cleaning supplies were collected for Hurricane Sandy’s victims.

Nature report: I was driving through Echo Hill one day when I saw three wild turkeys walking in a front yard. They did not flee as my car drove by, but just kept on walking. I think I was more surprised at seeing them. They were not particularly plump.
