DEERFIELD — A Jeep was involved in a rollover crash Monday on Routes 5 and 10 in Deerfield, temporarily delaying traffic on the road.
The driver, who had no passengers, was checked out by South County EMS and refused medical transport because she was not injured. She was wearing her seatbelt during the time of the crash. The accident happened around 3 p.m. as roads in the area were starting to get icy.
The rollover happened near the intersection of Routes 5 and 10 and Keets Road. The car was traveling in the Northbound lane, toward Greenfield.
Deerfield Police Officer Adam Sokoloski said the road quickly turned to ice and there wasn’t much the driver could do.
The road was closed until Massachusetts Highway Department could get salt on the road. Officers directed Northbound traffic around the accident on the Keets ramp.
The road was reopened about an hour after the accident.
