Amherst Pelham Regional bus information
Published on August 22, 2008
Amherst Pelham Regional School has two bus contractors, Five Star Transportation and Kusmeskus Transportation, to bring students to and from school. The bus numbers are on the buses.
Amherst Pelham Regional School District Routes will be posted to www.arps.org under "Home Page, Transportation/Busroutes." ARHS and ARMS take the same buses to school. There are two new interim superintendents, Helen Vivian and Alton Sprague, for Amherst Regional Schools, Amherst Public Schools and Pelham Public School.
Students need to be at their stops 10 minutes early. Digitized routes for Amherst-Pelham Regional Schools are provided by the school department and include the towns of Amherst, Pelham, Leverett and Shutesbury only. Call your school's office with questions and to notify the school offices of any address changes. The telephone number for the ARHS is 362-1700 and for the ARMS is 362-1846.
School starts Aug. 28. On the first day of school, ninth-grade students should arrive at the bus stop at the scheduled time.
All 10th through 12th grades should be at the bus stops about 2 hours and 20 minutes later than the scheduled time to arrive at the high school at 10:05 a.m. Normal bus schedules begin Aug. 29 for all students.
On the first day of school, Regional Middle School seventh-grade and all new eighth-graders will start at the scheduled time. Returning eighth-graders should arrive at bus stops about 2 hours and 20 minutes later than the normal time to arrive at the middle school at 10:05 a.m.
Morning a.m. routes for Amherst and Pelham bus numbers are region 1 to 23 and Pelham region 37 and 38; Leverett region buses are 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 36 and van 35 may pick up Amherst or return them home as needed. Amherst bus routes reverse in the afternoon unless road construction does not allow this policy. Leverett and Shutesbury or Pelham may require students to take a different afternoon bus home. Please note that vans "p.m." transfer from buses 26L or 30S to meet their p.m. van.
School staff will be available to direct students to their appropriate buses. Bus rosters are in all school offices. The school district is not obligated by law to provide transportation for students who are not resident members of our districts or under 2 miles from the schools. The schools do bus 1.5 miles or more.
Morning and afternoon routes cover different streets and may cover different directions on the same streets. Amherst-Pelham Regional Bus Routes are for grades seven through 12.
