Since I have retired I have been going through drawers, cabinets and boxes clearing up and cleaning out. I discovered income tax returns from the 1980s. I made a fire in the woodstove and turned all that paper into ash, which will go into my compost to fertilize my garden.

Despite the weather, attendance was good at the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce Table Top Expo and After Five last week. The event showcases area businesses and organizations. I checked out several products like bamboo flooring and green cleaners. The food was good at Buffalo Wings. In addition, Atkins had doughnuts and the Greenfield Savings Bank had cookies.
Need I say more?
The event is open to the public so check the listings next year.

Amira Rose Schroeder, the daughter of Nancy Schroeder and Julia Demmin of High Street in Amherst, has been selected to participate in the Ronald McNair Scholar Program, which prepares qualified students for graduate study. The program is located at Temple University where she is a first semester senior.
In her note, Julia said she is looking forward to the start of the Farmer's Market. With the snowfall last week I think we all are.
But with the advent of the winter farmers' markets in the area, there is an opportunity to buy fresh local produce.
