Full moon adds juice Monday

Over the course of the next three years, Neptune will make two sets of aspects to the U.S. Moon. This series has happened twice before, first in 1798-1799 and then in 1844-1847.

In the U.S. chart, the natal Moon is in Aquarius in the third house, the house of communications. It therefore rules voiced public sentiment, as well as our documents and contracts. Neptune rules the subconscious. Aligning with the Moon it confuses the public mood, obscures or otherwise fuzzes the lunar picture.

In 1798-1800 we were unofficially engaged in the Quasi War with France, a conflict never officially sanctioned by Congress. The public was uncertain. France had helped us out. Like us, France had a revolution. Some favored the French. Should we or shouldn't we stand by this old comrade-in-arms?

In 1844-1848 we were pushing for territorial claims on Mexico, which had recently won its freedom through a war of liberation. Texas was seeking admission as a state, while the administration had its eye on Western lands, principally California. In yet another war, under dubious claims, public sentiment was divided.

The U.S. Moon in Aquarius is the soul of the Democratic Party. The notion of a multi-ethnic, gender-inclusive cosmopolitan culture, mindful of the greater good, building on principles of education and civil liberties are but a few of the facets of this Aquarian light.

As Neptune aligns with this moonlight, the face in the orb remains uncertain. Is the face of the Democratic Party that of a woman, as the Moon suggests, or is it a person of color, reflective of the Aquarian rainbow?

The answer of course is yes. Both candidates represent the face this nation has been waiting for, a galvanizing figurehead to revitalize and pull these diverse elements together.

Even after the Democratic process selects its nominee, Neptune will parallel the U.S. Moon on Aug. 19, 2008 and again on Jan. 10, 2009. Neptune will then conjunct the U.S. Moon on Mar. 7 and Sep. 2, 2010 and finally on Jan 7, 2011.

While Neptune is strong, we are uncertain. On Mar. 5, 2008, in the first pass of the series, Senator Clinton won in Texas and Ohio, keeping her campaign hopes alive. As a result, no clear answer emerged.

As a people, we are not certain of who we are. Our own political face is a mystery, and will remain so through these various dates. We will better understand our national character after these alignments pass, but to attempt to force an answer now is a frustrating path at best. We simply do not have enough information to make an accurate assessment.

The Daily Planets

May 16 - 22, 2008

Friday, 16th- From about 9:30 a.m. through the balance of the morning is excellent. We're most focused at noon. The early evening brings on some changes which throws us off-kilter, but later evening is nice.

Saturday, 17th- Cosmetic differences become important, especially through early afternoon. Midafternoon is most focused, while early evening sets the stage for some interesting interactions over the next 48 hours. This could a be very tempting time. V/C Moon 0:54A-10:59A when it enters Scorpio

Sunday, 18th- The morning is best, especially around 7 and 11, but tonight keeps on rolling and 9 p.m. is also good. Be creative, social and willing to tease. Passion plays a part. The Full Moon is not until tomorrow evening. We feel it tonight.

Monday, 19th- Once again the early morning is very nice, especially between 5:30 and 8 a.m. We feel a little run-down just before noon. This evening the Full Moon adds juice to our sentiments. Not all is as it seems. Use your head. Go with what is logical. V/C Moon 10:11P-11:18P when it enters Sag

Tuesday, 20th- New ideas start to kick in after noon today. Fuel all that passion into some long-term opportunities and you'll be off to a good start. Events are combustible tonight and folks tend to misunderstand. Be careful of setting off sparks.

Wednesday, 21st- All through the morning and into the early afternoon is a great time to set up long-range projects, gather news from a distance or simply be part of the team. Check your email or follow up on that link. You'll be surprised at what is possible.

Thursday, 22nd- The morning is Void of Course (which means roll with it), but the afternoon is slowed down or held up by delays that begin to lighten up after 3 p.m. Tonight is nuts. V/C Moon 0:19A-11:55A when it enters Cap
