Amherst Democrats holding virtual caucus July 22

AMHERST — A virtual caucus to elect delegates for the state Democratic Party convention will be held by the Amherst Democratic Town Committee On Thursday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m. All registered Democrats in Amherst can attend the caucus and be elected as a delegate to attend the 2021 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention.

At the convention, delegates will serve as representatives of Amherst Democrats, and vote on the principles and policies that make up the state party’s platform. The state convention will begin at 8 a.m. on Sept. 25 at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Tsongas Center, with virtual participation remaining as an option as well.

After a round of speeches at the caucus from Danielle Allen and Ben Downing, two Democratic candidates running for governor, the delegates will be elected.
