MONDAY, JUNE 18

DISTURBANCES

3:48 p.m. – Two people preparing to fight on Triangle Street after getting out from their vehicles fled before police got there.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

10:42 p.m. – Police issued a verbal warning to a Clark House resident playing loud music.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

12:01 a.m. – Barking dogs disturbing neighbors on Greenwich Road were brought inside for the night.

9:55 a.m. – Cows loose on South East Street were put back in a field by their owner.

MOTOR VEHICLE

ACCIDENTS

5:07 p.m. – A crash with possible injuries occurred on Belchertown Road, police said.

TRAFFIC

6:35 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. – Large trees fell across East Hadley Road and Bay Road during a storm. The Department of Public Works was notified.

TUESDAY, JUNE 19

LARCENY

6:02 p.m. – A package delivered to a Farmington Road home was reported stolen. Police are investigating.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

10:21 p.m. – A pit bull terrier reported loose on Salem Place was not located by police.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITY

9:24 p.m. – Amherst Police assisted Leverett Police in searching for a woman involved in a motor vehicle crash.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

9:42 p.m. – A man who approached a neighbor at The Boulders seeking a date with her fled but then returned a second time to again ask her out. He was advised not to contact the woman again.

LARCENY

1:24 p.m. – Several items, including a backpack with cash, a check and personal belongings, were reported stolen from a North Pleasant Street sorority.

2:37 p.m. – A bottle of perfume left behind on a PVTA bus by a passenger was allegedly stolen by another passenger. Police are investigating.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

8:23 a.m. – A cat biting people near a Meadow Street bus stop was not located.

THURSDAY, JUNE 21

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

5:30 p.m. – A man allegedly videotaping a woman in a University Drive store was not located by police.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

10:08 p.m. – Police took a report about offensive signs being held by a man at a downtown location.

LARCENY

6:38 p.m. – Management at a downtown restaurant reported a female employee was caught stealing money from the cash register.

FRIDAY, JUNE 22

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

3:13 p.m. – Someone yelling “help me” was heard on North Whitney Street. Police determined the sound was made by children playing.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

8:37 a.m. – A resident reported his 2009 Hyundai was stolen overnight. He called back to report that his teenage daughter had actually taken the vehicle and left it at a friend’s home.

DISTURBANCES

11:23 p.m. – Police kept the peace between people at the Amherst Motel.

TRAFFIC

4:21 p.m. – A bag filled with leaves dumped on Strong Street was removed by the Department of Public Works.

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

2:04 a.m. – An American flag was set on fire outside a College Street business. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, with no damage caused to the building.

BREAK-INS

3:48 p.m. – A car alarm sounded at Rolling Green Apartments, but it was unclear if someone had attempted to enter the vehicle.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

10:51 p.m. – Police issued a verbal warning to East Hadley Road residents playing loud music and talking loudly.

MOTOR VEHICLE

ACCIDENTS

11:53 a.m. – A scooter rider fell at the intersection of Main and South Whitney streets after hitting a patch of sand, police said.

4:19 p.m. – A hit-and-run vehicle was reported on Lincoln Avenue, police said.

SUNDAY, JUNE 24

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

1:24 a.m. – People in a vehicle at Groff Park were reminded of the park’s hours and sent on their way.

MOTOR VEHICLE

ACCIDENTS

10:58 a.m. – Three vehicles struck and killed a deer that jumped a fence near the intersection of Meadow Street and the Route 116 bypass, police said.

7:10 p.m. – One vehicle was towed following a two-car accident with no personal injuries on South Pleasant Street, police said.
