BELCHERTOWN — In response to the delivery of a Ku Klux Klan-affiliated publication to many houses last weekend, members of Belchertown Voices for Justice are holding a community-building feast to celebrate diversity and inclusion.

As part of its ongoing mission to create a welcoming community, the group will be organizing a “One Community” picnic from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, on the Belchertown Common.

The group recently condemned the delivery of “The Crusader” to multiple homes in town over the weekend.

“BVJ stands against the politics of hate that seek to divide and redouble their commitment to the values of freedom, justice, and equality that bind people together,” the group said in a statement.

All are welcome to join and bring their favorite ready-to-eat dish and get to know their neighbors better. More information about the event can be found on the Belchertown Voices for Justice Facebook page at www.facebook.com/belchertownvoices4justice.
