‘It is time for dog owners to step up to the plate’ in S. Hadley

The dog park for South Hadley is moving closer to reality. A design grant was awarded by the Stanton Foundation, and a design company has been engaged. We continue to have meetings and have developed a draft of dog park rules. We have also launched our fundraising campaign. Last week over 1,200 letters were sent to dog owners and friends in South Hadley with information about the park and with a request for donations.

For the dog park project to actually happen, it is time for dog owners to step up to the plate. The South Hadley Dog Park will be a great addition to our town. It will give our pups a safe place to run and play right in our own neighborhood. For those dog owners wishing to use our dog park, we’re hoping for a contribution in any amount. Even the smallest donation can help us pay for operating and start-up costs: dog waste bags, wood to build benches, or even a garbage can.

Without donations, this amazing area may not be available to your dog. You can demonstrate your show of support by going to our web site, www.southhadleydogpark.org to donate online, or mailing a check to the address on the letter you have received.

Please do your part to make this dog park a reality.
