AMHERST — A break-in to a University Drive pizza shop that likely occurred early Sunday morning is being investigated by Amherst Police.

Officers were notified at 9:15 a.m. Sunday by management at Athena’s Pizza, 65 University Drive, that someone made forced entry through a smashed window, said Detective Yvonne Feliciabo.

An unspecified amount of money was stolen from the business, but nothing else was missing, Feliciano said.

The incident happened after the business closed the previous night.

Video from a surveillance camera is being used in an effort to identify a suspect, Feliciano said.
