The Amherst League of Women Voters joined in the nationwide protests on May 31 in solidarity with our black communities against the violence and deeply imbedded systemic and institutional racism.
Mourning George Floyd’s death among the countless others, we are united with the NAACP, Black Lives Matter and all civil rights groups in demanding transparency into the investigation and justice for all our neighbors.
Most importantly, all the young people who marched in protest must turn out to vote in the fall elections. The next opportunity for critical change is at the ballot box.
