Not a wreath nor a tree, or even a poinsettia to signify the Christmas holiday at the Hadley Housing Authority. On Dec. 20, notices were placed door to door, stating that all outdoor Christmas lights and holiday decorations must be removed by Thursday, Dec. 26. This will be the last year tenants will be able to be creative with their holiday decorating for others to savor. It took some tenants days to perfect their personal front porches. Bye-bye outdoor lights and holiday decorations. Farewell tenants’ personal gardens two summers ago. Adios vital much-loved umbrella tree that provided needed shade and a place for tenants to gather. Oppression at its finest. Another war on the elderly, poor and disabled.
