Reminder: It’s time to change the clocks on Saturday night. Again, I don’t know if it’s forward or backwards, so please look at the newspaper. The front page usually has a picture with a clock. In the past I have put in the wrong direction so don’t mention it anymore.

Also apologies to those who rely on the column to provide a reminder to pay real estate taxes Nov. 1. I forgot myself and found the bill notice Monday. At least I wasn’t late.

The fair and bazaar season seems to start in October now. But there is a local one Saturday. The Wesley United Methodist Church holds its annual Fall Fair Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 98 N. Maple St. in Hadley.

The fair features craft vendors as well as Grandms’s attic, country store and food.

It’s free.

Seats are still available for the University Women bus trip to New York City, Wednesday, Nov. 15. The bus leaves at 7 a.m. from the Stop & Shop parking lot and leaves New York at 7 p.m. There are two drop off points in the city. The cost is $40. To save a seat call Shirley Stevens at 253-7269 or email: apstevens317@gmail.com.

I am going. My daughter works in Manhattan and we get together. Or my sister comes from New Jersey and we go to a show with the half price tickets.

Speaking of shows, the Valley Light Opera presents “My Fair Lady,” a Broadway classic, this weekend and next at the Academy of Music in Northampton. Pictures of performers have been in the papers and the costumes look spectacular. Many of our friends and neighbors are involved in the production. Thanks to them for volunteering their time.
