HADLEY — Police say an unknown driver forced another off the road late Saturday afternoon in what may have been a “road rage” incident.

According to officer Matt Goulding, the 5:45 p.m. incident left a Honda CR-V down an embankment off Campus Plaza Road, which connects to a shopping center north of Route 9 near the Amherst town line.

The Honda had front-end damage and had to be towed, but the driver, who was not identified, was not injured, Goulding said.

Neither the driver of the other car nor the car itself have been identified, Goulding noted, nor were more details available Sunday afternoon about what may have prompted the incident. However, Goulding said it did not appear to be accidental.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the East Street station at 413-584-0883.
