Ralph Faulkinghan sent an email about the 28th annual Holiday Brass Concert and Carol Sing that will take place at the First Congregational Church, 165 Main St. , Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. Donations will benefit the Amherst Survival Center.

Richard Ballon sent me an email about his new play. He wrote that Ghost Light Theater will present a reading of his work, “All Souls,” Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Gateway City Arts in Holyoke. Suggested donation is 5 dollars.

Jeanne Esposito of Amherst sent an me an invitation to the Human Rights Day program on Dec. 10, at 1:30 p.m. in the Jones Library. She said U.S Rep. James McGovern, a devoted human rights champion, will be the principal speaker. The event includes Music and refreshments.

The event is sponsored by the Amherst Chapter of Amnesty International which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year.

A few friends were thinking of taking bets on when we would have a snow fall, enough to leave a human or animal print. The winner would be feted with a meal. One said Dec. 8, another said Dec. 14 and Dec. 20 was another date since that person would be flying on that date.

I said Dec. 29 since I invited friends to a potluck. You know it will snow then.
