Merry Christmas to all our Christian friends and neighbors.

Kwanza greetings to everyone.

This is a wonderful time of year to exchange greetings to everyone.

Consider visiting or calling those who are unable to get out. Thanks.

As usual, we missed the opportunity to see a wonderful meteor shower. The main day to see the Geminid on Thursday was a snow day. Friday and Saturday there was a cloud cover. It’s been a long time since a good meteor shower was visible here. Is there one next year?

Janet Ryan from the Jones Library sent me an email about learning the basics of household recycling. Mimi Kaplan, the Waste Reduction Enforcement Coordinator in Amherst, will talk about what can and can’t be recycled Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Woodbury Room. She will also discuss recycling contamination and how we can create less waste.

You can bring any items about which you have questions or need some clarification.

The session is free and open to the public.

Garden report of sorts. A friend gave me an amaryllis in a red wax ball. The card said it doesn’t need watering. I am following that direction. So far three stalks have appeared and are getting taller. I will let you know how it turns out.
