The Amherst Historical Society lunchtime series, History Bites, is back.

Lectures are held every other Friday at noon. The next is March 15 when Amherst Police Capt. Ron Young will speak on the history of the Police Department at the Strong House Museum.

Cinda Jones will speak March 29 on her family, Cowls in Amherst. That talk will be held at the Jones Library.

The series is free and open to the public. Refreshments are served. Donations are welcome.

Do you notice a pattern of snowstorms? It’s Mondays this year.

I am a member of the Amherst Woman’s Club that meets on Monday, and officers cancelled the third meeting this week. I hope some of the great speakers can be scheduled next year.

My third Monday book group had to be cancelled twice as well.

And as we all know, it can snow in April.
