‘A Tunnel Year’

Karinne Keithley Syers’ installation and performance “A Tunnel Year” is, according to press notes, “a three-part book with a play at its center, built from a few years’ worth of interrupted thoughts crammed into one-line scenes voiced by animals.” The installation will be at the A.P.E. Gallery, at 126 Main St. in Northampton, presented as a walk-though comic book, and on Saturday, May 5 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. performed as a live radio play with a cast of five actors. The artist is a writer, performer, and bookmaker who’s now based in Northampton, having spent 20 years in the downtown New York experimental communities working in dance, poetry and theater. “In My Nature” art exhibit

Salmon Falls Gallery in Shelburne Falls presents an exhibit by Easthampton resident Marty Klein titled “In My Nature.” Klein creates his compositions by arranging natural objects scavenged from nature onto a scanner, a medium called scanography. The Salmon Falls Gallery is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The reception will take place Saturday, May 5 from 3-5 p.m., and the artist will host a talk Sunday, June 10 from 2-4 p.m. Salmon Falls Gallery is located at 1 Ashfield Street in Shelburne Falls.
