Yes, there is a free lunch. The Amherst Survival Center will once again host a Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 867 N. Pleasant St. Everyone is invited. There are vegetarian options, according to Becky Lockwood, kitchen coordinator at the center. The gravy is fabulous and so are the pies.

It’s a community event with donations from UMass, local restaurants and schools.

It’s an opportunity to get together since the Bangs Center Thanksgiving dinner won’t be held this year.
