HADLEY — A man’s body was found in a wooded area off Route 9 near the Mountain Farms Mall Sunday morning, but his death is not considered suspicious, according to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.

Police and emergency responders were called to the location at 8:30 a.m. Sunday by a manager at the Walmart store at the mall after an employee observed the unresponsive man near a walking path from the Dunkin’ restaurant, 331 Russell St., to the mall’s parking lot, said Laurie Loisel, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.

Emergency responders determined the man, who was 46, had been dead for a period of time, and may have been sitting on a footbridge at some point.

The location has been a place for people, including those without homes, to congregate.
