Amherst Police

* A 23-year-old Ludlow woman will be summoned to court on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a lights violation, after the vehicle she was driving was stopped on North Pleasant Street Tuesday at 12:32 a.m., police said.

* Police took a report Monday at 10:10 p.m. that an East Hadley Road home was entered and $1,000 worth of electronic items were stolen, including an Xbox game system, six Xbox games and a Mac iBook.

* A 14-year-old Amherst boy was arrested Monday at 8:03 a.m. at his South Amherst home on two counts of domestic assault and battery and a charge of assault after he shoved both of his parents and also threatened to punch one of his parents, police said.

Neither parent was injured in the incident, police said.

* Police are investigating a break-in at a Pelham Road home, reported Sunday at 10:12 p.m., in which a television set, two laptops, a PlayStation 2 game system and cash were stolen. Police said there was no evidence of forced entry.

* Meghan C. Davis, 22, of West Street, was arrested Nov. 29 at 2:25 a.m. on South Pleasant Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a lights violation after her vehicle was stopped for having no headlights on, police said.

* A 60-year-old Amherst man will be summoned to court on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, second offense, failure to stop/yield and negligent operation of a motor vehicle after the vehicle he was driving from Mechanic Street onto South East Street Nov. 28 at 5:20 p.m. went through a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Kris Watson, 35, of Montague Road, Leverett, police said.

Both the man and Watson were transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

* Timothy S. Roberson, 47, of Belchertown, was arrested Nov. 28 at 7:17 a.m. at Echo Village Apartments on an outsanding warrant, police said.

* A 20-year-old Amherst man will be summoned to court on a charge of domestic assault and battery after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during an argument at a South Amherst home and fled in a vehicle Nov. 26 at 10:53 p.m., police said.

The woman didn't require medical attention, according to police.

* A 23-year-old Orange woman will be summoned to court on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and speeding following a traffic stop on North Pleasant Street Nov. 26 at 8:28 p.m., police said.

* A 52-year-old Stonington, Conn. man will be summoned to court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license following a minor two-car accident with no personal injuries on Lincoln Avenue Nov. 26 at 5:51 p.m., police said.

* A 20-year-old Amherst man suffered a superficial injury to his foot after he accidentally discharged his BB gun at a North Amherst location, police said.

Police were notified about the incident Nov. 24 at 11:09 p.m. by officials at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, where the man was treated and released for the self-inflicted wound. Police said they are informed about all incidents in which people go to hospitals to be treated for gunshot wounds.

* A 19-year-old Amherst man will be summoned to court on charges of malicious destruction of property under $250, intimidating a witness and disorderly conduct following an incident in which he smashed a window at Village Park, taunted the residents and threatened to kill two people on the evening of Nov. 22, police said.

* A 43-year-old woman, no hometown available, will be summoned to court on a charge of larceny following the theft of baby formula from Big Y Supermarket on University Drive on the afternoon of Nov. 22, police said.

A second woman who accompanied her is being issued a trespass notice to stay out of the store, police said.

* Between Nov. 24 and Dec. 2, police issued 166 warnings to vehicles parked in violation of the winter parking ban, which prohibits overnight parking on Amherst streets.

Police recovered two wallets, a pair of eyeglasses, a baseball bat, a key chain, a $100 bill, a bicycle, a bag of tools and a Swiss watch and took a report of a lost set of keys. Police conducted speed checks on Market Hill Road, Lincoln Avenue, Old Farm Road, West Pomeroy Lane and North East Street, provided two courtesy escorts and escorts for two funerals, performed three well-being checks and delivered mail to members of the Select Board.

In addition, police responded to false alarms at seven businesses and six residences and checked on vehicles parked on Cottage Street, South Pleasant Street, Amity Place, Rolling Green Drive, West Street, Belchertown Road, Dennis Drive and North Pleasant Street and at Puffer's Pond and Puffton Village.

Hadley Police

* A South Maple Street resident reported Sunday at 11:30 p.m. that the house was broken into and a television, X-box game system and computer were stolen.

* Luke Osborne, 29, of Moody Bridge Road, was arrested Nov. 28 at 9:29 p.m. at a Hadley home on charges of violating an abuse prevention order, assault with a dangerous weapon (a gun), intimidating a witness and carrying a dangerous weapon (a gun), police said.

Osborne was arrested after a woman told police he pointed a gun at her, police said.

* Police took reports of vehicles being broken into while parked at the Hampshire Mall Nov. 27. A car window was smashed in the first reported break-in at 6:36 p.m., while the second report was filed at 7:17 p.m.

* Chickens were reported running loose across South Maple Street Nov. 27 at 3:39 p.m.

* A resident reported Nov. 27 at 6:53 a.m. that she dropped an envelope with cash when she left her car outside a Route 9 restaurant. When she returned to the parking lot she found the envelope, but all the cash inside it was missing.

* State police passed on a report to Hadley Nov. 25 at 5:01 p.m. about a woman who observed a suspicious man at Mountain Farms Mall who offered to give her a book and then left the area.

* A resident reported that a person sitting on a bench outside the Super Stop & Shop at Campus Shopping Plaza was hitting people and yelling at them Nov. 25 at 1:43 p.m. The disorderly person was not located by police.

UMass Police

* A 25-year-old Amherst resident will be summoned to court on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop/yield following a traffic stop on North Pleasant Street Nov. 29 at 4:58 p.m., police said.

* Dean Charzenski, 20, of Oxford, was arrested Nov. 23 at 1:51 a.m. on Massachusetts Avenue on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle the wrong way on a one-way street and being a minor in possession of alcohol, police said.

* Christopher Nolin, 19, of Northborough, was arrested Nov. 22 at 5:39 p.m. at the Mullins Center on a charge of disorderly conduct, police said.

* The following people were arrested Nov. 21 at 8:20 p.m. and 10:04 p.m. and Nov. 22 at 5:31 p.m. in Lot 22 off University Drive, Lot 32W off Massachusetts Avenue and in Lot 49 off Orchard Hill Drive on charges of being minors in possession of alcohol, police said:

Daniel H. Gaughan, 19, of Quincy; Daniel H. Jacob, 18, of Needham; Bradley L. Scatterday, 19, of Rockport; David A. Selsey, 19, of Bronx, N.Y.; and Edwin D. Vazquez, 18, of Springfield.

A 19-year-old Rockport man will be summoned to court on a charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol as a result of the incident Nov. 22 at 5:31 p.m., police said.

* A 21-year-old Woburn woman will be summoned to court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Massachusetts Avenue Nov. 22 at 1:58 p.m., police said.

* Jason N. Morris, 18, of Windsor Locks, Conn., was arrested Nov. 22 at 12:11 a.m. in Lot 34E off Massachusetts Avenue on a charge of disorderly conduct, police said.

A 19-year-old Lowell man will also be summoned to court on a charge of disorderly conduct as a result of the same incident, police said.

* Daniel C. Brown, 45, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was arrested Nov. 21 at 10:45 p.m. at a Presidents Drive location on an outstanding warrant, police said.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 1:25 a.m. - A small pile of burning leaves at the entrance to Puffton Village was extinguished.

* 1:32 a.m. - A man who struck another man on Amity Street was not located by police.

* 1:51 a.m. - A person seen climbing through a window of a Phillips Street home checked out OK. He was known to the residents.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 12:45 a.m. - Amherst police delivered a message to an Amherst resident on behalf of Franklin, N.H. police.

* 10:51 a.m. - Police spoke to a New York City woman whose son ran away from home and may have come to Amherst. New York City police are also investigating the boy's disappearance.

* 2:01 p.m. - A girl living in South Amherst told police she is afraid to go to school because a person has threatened to kill her. Police determined the incident was related to her break-up with a boy at the school.

* 4:25 p.m. - A woman called police to report she would be making a film with college friends at Puftfon Village in which a toy gun would be used. Police advised them not to do.

* 7:56 p.m. - A Yale University football player visiting his girlfriend at an Amherst home was brought to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment after police found him having a panic attack. The man told police he may have sustained head injuries from hits he took in the previous day's game against Harvard.

DISTURBANCES

* 12:35 a.m. - A teenage boy became out of control at a Southpoint Apartments home after watching a television program.

* 12:48 a.m. - Police removed a man causing problems from a Greenleaves Drive apartment. He went to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment and to be evaluated for his mental health.

LARCENY

* 3:12 a.m. - A Meadow Street woman reported her wallet, purse and camera were stolen while at a party the previous night.

VANDALISM

* 1:39 a.m. - A sliding glass door at Townehouse Apartments was smashed with a fist or beer bottle.

* 4:59 a.m. - A window was smashed out on a vehicle parke don Nutting Avenue.

FIGHTS

* 1:20 a.m. - People fighting on North Pleasant Street near Phillips Street were not located by police.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

12:03 a.m. - Police issued noise and keg bylaw violations to Sunset Avenue residents after a loud party with people drinking on the lawn. Two kegs were seized.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 2:40 p.m. - A minor two-car accident with no personal injuries took place on West Street near Atkins Farms Country Market, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 8:01 p.m. and 9:13 p.m. - Police issued verbal warnings to the drivers of vehicles without headlights driving on Sunset Avenue and Northampton Road.

* 11:10 p.m. - A vehicle blocking a fire hydrant on Gray Street was moved.

* 2:05 a.m. - Amherst police assisted UMass police with a person down on North Pleasant Street with a possible head injury.

MONDAY, NOV. 24

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 4:48 a.m. - Two fires were found set on the Amherst College-owned Tuttle Farm on South East Street. Amherst firefighters extinguished the fires.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 1:01 a.m. - Police spoke to the daughter of a South Amherst woman who is continually filing false noise complaints.

* 12:36 p.m. - A Taylor Street woman was advised to contact a local Internal Revenue Service office after she got an income statement reporting she had worked at businesses in Spring, Texas and Decatur, Ga. and earned a sizable income.

DISTURBANCES

* 9:48 p.m. - A woman causing problems at Amherst Coffee who might also be stealing toiletries was not located by police. Management was advised to contact police when she returns so a trespass notice can be issued to her.

RECOVERED PROPERTY

* 8:09 a.m. - A counterfeit $10 bill passed at Watroba's was turned over to police.

LARCENY

* 4:11 p.m. - A man fled with an unspecified item from Newbury Comics, but was not located by police. Store management contacted police after the store alarm sounded.

VANDALISM

* 7 p.m. - A person who shot out the back window of a vehicle parked on Amity Street was not located by police. The male suspect was described as wearing a camouflage jacket and headphones.

FIGHTS

* 10 p.m. - A fight at The Boulders between several men had ended when police got there. One of the men leaving on his bicycle was calmed down and sent on his way.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

* 12:07 a.m. - Members of a band practicing at a Pelham Road home's basement agreed to stop for the night.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

* 10:12 a.m.- Police assisted in the relocation of a raccoon from Wentworth Manor Drive.

* 1:04 p.m. - A small dog was reported running loose near the railroad tracks off North Whitney Street.

* 5:24 p.m. - The Department of Public Works was contacted to remove a dead raccoon from the middle of Main Street.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 11:56 a.m. - One driver was issued a citation for failure to use care in stopping following a minor two-car accident with no personal injuries on Northampton Road, police said.

* 4:04 p.m. - A minor two-car accident with no personal injuries took place at the corner of Middle Street and Pomeroy Lane, police said.

The drivers, who were arguing when police got there, were calmed down and sent on heir way, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 9:22 a.m. - The state Highway Department was notified about gravel that had been dumped in the middle of West Street near the Notch. At 10:31 a.m., police officers assisted in directing traffic while the gravel was picked up.

* 1:14 p.m. - Police took a report of an erratic vehicle on University Drive.

* 5:02 p.m. - Police were unable to locate a vehicle on East Pleasant Street that ran two red lights.

* 8:31 p.m. - A vehicle with a defective headlight was stopped on Belchertown Road and the driver was issued a warning.

TUESDAY, NOV. 25

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 7:52 p.m. - A Chestnut Court Apartments woman told police her house was shaking. Police officers got there and determined there was no shaking, and that the woman was likely experiencing the effects of having been inside a car most of the day.

DISTURBANCES

* 2:03 p.m. - Police kept the peace between people arguing at a Bridge Street home.

LARCENY

* 8:30 a.m. - Police got a report of a theft from the Ruxton gravel pit.

VANDALISM

* 10:09 a.m. - A door was kicked in at Gilreath Manor on Hobart Lane some time over the previous weekend.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

* 3:28 a.m. - Police issued a $100 noise-bylaw citation to a Mill Valley Estates resident playing a loud stereo who refused to open the door.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

* 8:37 a.m. - A yellow Labrador retriever named Jake, running loose on South Pleasant Street, was located at 12:50 p.m. in a swampy area behind Chili's restaurant in Hadley. Jake was returned to his owner.

* 2:32 p.m. - A sick fox on Longmeadow Drive was destroyed by police.

* 4:16 p.m. - Police were unable to locate a white goat wandering in the middle of South East Street near the South Amherst Town Common. Two days later at 9:47 a.m., the goat was reported wandering in the area of the South Amherst alternative high school.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 10:27 a.m. - A minor two-car accident with no personal injuries took place on Main Street, police said.

* 4:28 p.m. - June Bishop, 52, of Ware, was driving her vehicle on Henry Street when she struck a deer that ran in front of her vehicle, police said.

The deer went into a ditch and its carcass was found when police got there, police said.

* 5:15 p.m. - Daniel Fifield, no age or address available, was issued citations for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to stay within marked lanes following a minor two-car accident with no personal injuries on Northampton Road, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 2:32 a.m. - Police pulled over a vehicle that failed to stop for a red light on Amity Street and issued the driver a warning.

* 11:24 a.m. - A Wildflower Drive resident filed a complaint about a speeding vehicle in the neighborhood.

* 4:43 p.m. - A vehicle that failed to use care in turning was stopped on Lessey Street, The driver was issued a verbal warning.

* 5:06 p.m. and 10:35 p.m.- Police stopped vehicles that were not using headlights on College Street and Main Street. The drivers were issued verbal warnings.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 26

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 12:08 a.m. - Police issued a warning to a person walking with an open can of beer and a mixed drink on Lincoln Avenue.

* 1:29 p.m. - Police checked on a vacant Main Street home and determined it has become a popular place for youths to smoke marijuana. A maintenance person for the home was advised to better secure the property. Police went back to the residence at 7:48 p.m. when a car was found parked in the driveway.

LARCENY

* 8:58 a.m. - A small sign for DP Dough was reported stolen from outside the North Pleasant Street business.

* 4:05 p.m. - Two 14-year-old girls were caught stealing skin-care products and juice from the CVS Pharmacy on North Pleasant Street. They were turned over to their parents and issued trespass notices. Police said they will speak with the parents.

FIGHTS

* 11:43 p.m. - A man kicked several people at Southpoint Apartments, injuring them during the incident. Police may file charges against the man.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

* 10:12 a.m. - Police assisted a North East Street resident with a raccoon issue.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 1:53 p.m. - Quincy Saul, no age or address available, was issued a citation for failure to use care in stopping following a minor two-car accident with no personal injuries at the corner of West Street and Longmeadow Drive, police said.

* 5:51 p.m. - Thalia Aquilar-Nolan, 20, of Northampton, was issued a citation for failure to use care in starting after the vehicle she was driving from Lincoln Avenue onto Amity Street collided with a vehicle driven by Rogelio Echeverri, 52, of Stonington, Conn., police said.

Damage to both vehicles was minor and no personal injuries were reported, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 12:51 a.m. - A vehicle that made an illegal right turn on East Hadley Road was stopped. The driver was issued a verbal warning.

* 9:13 a.m. - Police were notified about a homeless woman possibly living out of her van parked on private property off Snell Street near Blake Field. Police were unable to locate the woman, but left a message for her at Ann Whalen Apartments, where she had previously been living.

* 9:10 p.m. - A tire in the middle of College Street was removed before police got there.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITY

* 2:02 a.m. - Amherst police assisted the Hampshire County Sheriff's office in removing a man from a North Hadley Road home.

THURSDAY, NOV. 27

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 2:05 a.m. - A woman reported seeing a bonfire and hearing people yelling in the area of the Notch Visitors Center. The area checked OK.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 1:02 a.m. - Police determined a man who alleged he was being assaulted at a North Pleasant Street location was actually refusing to take his prescribed medication.

* 1:17 p.m. - A woman inside Bruegger's Bagel Bakery begging for money and refusing to leave was gone when police got there.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

* 6:34 p.m. - People making loud noise while installing a car radio at a South Prospect Street location checked out OK.

* 8:21 p.m. - Loud music at The Boulders was quiet when police got there.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 12:28 p.m. - A minor two-car accident with no personal injuries took place in the parking lot at Atkins Farms Country Market, police said.

FRIDAY, NOV. 28

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 1:31 a.m. - A screen door fell down at a College Street home, but the residence appeared to be secure.

* 2:49 a.m. - A man checking the engine of a vehicle parked on Rolling Green Drive was determined to be the owner of the vehicle.

* 1:22 p.m. - Police are investigating an incident in which a man went into Bart's Homemade and made strange comments to a woman working there. Police said there are similarities to an incident in which a man earlier this fall did the same thing at Atkins Farms Country Market, and also approached a woman on the UMass campus. A second report of a similar incident at Bart's came in two days later at 10:16 p.m.

* 2:47 p.m. - Police went to South Pleasant Street to check on a man who was reported cutting down a tree on conservation land. Officers determined that he was just cleaning up debris from a tree blown down in the summer and had permission from the Department of Public Works to do the work.

* 10:33 p.m. - Three youths throwing debris into North Pleasant Street were identified and told to remove the trash from the road.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 4:43 p.m. - A woman lost in the woods at The Notch was found at 5:58 p.m. and given a courtesy escort to her vehicle.

DISTURBANCES

* 9:12 p.m. - A man and woman were reported fighting inside a vehicle at Village Park. The vehicle was empty when police got there and the couple was not located.

VANDALISM

* 11:54 a.m. - Two youths breaking branches off a tree near the Bangs Community Center to make it easier to climb were warned about damaging public property and sent back to a home at the Clark House.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

* 9:59 a.m. - A dog that was killed and left on the side of West Street was moved by police officers. The state Highway Department was notified.

* 12:38 p.m. - A sick raccoon at a West Pomeroy Lane home was destroyed by police.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 12:42 p.m. - Vehicles driven by Constance E. Russell, 69, of River Drive, Hadley, and Loril L. Moondream, 52, of Wendell, were involved in a low-impact collision at the drive-thru window to the CVS Pharamacy on University Drive, police said.

Moondream complained of a sore neck, but told police she would seek her own medical attention, police said.

Both vehicles had minor scuff marks on their bumpers as a result of the accident, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 9:02 p.m. - Police issued written warnings to the driver of a vehicle with a license plate light out and inspection sticker violation stopped on North Pleasant Street. A strong smell of marijuana was coming form the vehicle, but no drugs were located.

* 9:52 p.m. - An erratic eastbound vehicle on Northampton Road that sped by vehicles where the road merges from two lanes into one lane was not located by police.

SATURDAY, NOV. 29

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 1:25 a.m. - Police took a report that customers were being let into a downtown bar after hours. Police determined the complaint was not legitimate and may have been made by an angry customer.

* 3:47 a.m. - A Puffton Village woman told police two suspicious men knocked on her door and told her to turn down her radio. Police discovered the men were security personnel for the apartment complex.

* 10:51 p.m. - Police responded to a Main Street apartment for a report of non-stop laughing by the residents that was annoying neighbors. While the person reporting thought the neighbors might be using drugs, police determined that they just watching a marathon of Jim Carrey movies.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 3:11 a.m. - An Amherst woman reported getting annoying text messages from her former boyfriend. She was given advice on getting a restraining order against him and was brought to a friend's house to stay the night.

* 3:25 p.m. - Police are continuing to assist New York City police in searching for a missing boy who may have been visiting a family at Puffton Village.

* 6:14 p.m. - Police were told by an Amherst woman that her boyfriend is missing since leaving the previous day. The woman later called back to report the man was in Northampton with her friends.

DISTURBANCES

* 1:04 a.m. - A fight outside the downtown bars ended before police got there.

LARCENY

* 12:47 p.m. - A woman reported her vehicle stolen from The Boulders some time overnight, possibly by a man she recently met.

BREAK-INS

* 2 p.m. - A vacant home on Henry Street was entered and photos and a jewelry box were reported stolen. The home was also ransacked during the incident.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

* 1:14 a.m. - Police issued a verbal warning to Mattoon Street residents playing a loud stereo.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

* 11:09 a.m. - A raccoon found beneath a tree on Farmington Road was not ill.

TRAFFIC

* 12:30 a.m. - A vehicle with a plate light violation was stopped on South East Street. The driver was issued a verbal warning.

* 7:45 a.m. - A wire came down on Van Meter Drive. A utility company was notified.

* 2:22 p.m. - Police seized a meat cleaver knife and a machete knife from a man driving a vehicle that was stopped on Main Street.

* 2:35 p.m. - Western Massachusetts Electric Co. was contacted to repair a transformer on South East Street that blew out when a squirrel climbed into it.

* 10:33 p.m. - A vehicle traveling in the wrong lane on University Drive was not located by police.

SUNDAY, NOV. 30

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 7:41 a.m. - Police were contacted after an intoxicated man entered an unlocked Echo Village Apartments home and passed out on the floor. Police determined the man had been a prior tenant and issued him a trespass notice after the residents asked that he not be arrested.

* 11:44 a.m. - A Belchertown Road woman requested additional police patrols after someone left a Dunkin' Donuts coffee cup on her front steps and dumped a cardboard box filled with beer cans into her yard.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 3:11 p.m. - Police delivered a message to a Squire Lane resident on behalf of her sister.

* 6:18 p.m. - Police assisted with a custody exchange between parents at Mill Valley Estates.

* 10:35 p.m. - A handicapped man having difficulty crossing Northampton Road had reached the other side when police got there.

VANDALISM

* 8:55 a.m. - The door to the Bank of America ATM on Montague Road was damaged after someone tore off the handle, preventing customers from getting inside.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 10:26 a.m. - One vehicle was towed following a minor two-car accident with no personal injuries at Puffton Village, police said.

* 1:34 p.m. - An erratic vehicle forced another vehicle off the road and into one of the traffic lights at the corner of Meadow Street and the Route 116 bypass, police said.

The pole holding the lights was knocked over and the State Highway department was notified to repair it, police said.

* 2:04 p.m. - Konstatinos E. Saranteas, 50, of Peabody, was issued a citation for driving at a speed greater than reasonable for road conditions after the vehicle he was driving westbound on Pelham Road crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by Nikhila Madhwapathy, 21, of Northampton Road, which in turn was struck by a vehicle driven by Christen E. Eulian, 21, of Pittsfield, police said.

Madhwapathy complained of minor pain to her legs and was treated at the scene by Amherst Fire Department personnel, police said.

Saranteas and Madhwapathy's vehicles were both towed from the scene, police said.

* 2:51 p.m. - A vehicle went off Henry Street and struck a tree and guardrail, causing heavy damage but no personal injuries, police said. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

* 3:18 p.m. - A minor two-car accident with no personal injuries occurred on Henry Street, police said. The accident was partially caused by slick road conditions, according to police.

* 4:21 p.m. - One vehicle involved in a minor two-car accident with no personal injuries on North Pleasant Street fled the scene before police got there, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 12:41 a.m. - Police issued a ticket to and later called for the tow of a vehicle blocking a North Pleasant Street driveway.

* 9:55 a.m. - Police were told about vehicles parked facing traffic on North Prospect Street while people were attending mass at St. Brigid's Church. Police determined there was no impediment to traffic on the street, but will advise the priest to speak to parishioners about the ongoing issue. At 1:06 p.m., the woman reporting the issue told police she might take the matter to Town Meeting because the street is too narrow for on-street parking.

* 1:38 p.m. - A vehicle with a woman and two small children parked on Station Road was not located by police.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITY

* 5:34 p.m. - Amherst police were unable to locate a vehicle involved in a minor accident reported by Hadley police on the Route 116 bypass.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

* 12:35 a.m. - An Amherst Motel resident reported someone banging on the door. Police found a man and woman looking for a resident who just knocked on the wrong door.

CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

* 12:36 a.m. - Police helped a Dana Street woman pick up a lamp that fell to the floor in her home and could have caused a fire if left unattended.

* 8:17 a.m. - Police spoke to a South East Street landowner about removing a person from the property who was hunting on it without his permission.

* 10:04 a.m. - A homeless man who was living on property off Northampton Road was issued a trespass notice to remove his belongings.

* 4:59 p.m. - An Amherst woman visiting her sister at the Amherst Nursing Home was given a courtesy escort home after she determined she could not driver herself home in the dark.

* 11:36 p.m. - A man who parked his vehicle in the Boltwood parking lot told police the driver of another vehicle scratched his vehicle when opening the door.

LARCENY

* 8:06 p.m. - Money allegedly stolen from an East Hadley Road home was later determined to have been taken by a friend of the homeowner for safekeeping and will be returned.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

* 4:34 p.m. - The remains of a deer were found by a child in the woods near a Blackberry Lane home. Police said the deer, which had been gutted by someone, was likely killed by a passing train.

* 11:08 p.m. - An ill fox located in the driveway of a Lincoln Avenue home was destroyed by police.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

* 2:47 p.m. - A minor two-car accident with no personal injuries took place at the intersection of Northampton Road and University Drive, police said.

* 3:15 p.m. and 5:48 p.m. - Vehicles parked in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot off North Prospect Street and in a driveway on Northampton Road sustained minor damage when they were struck by hit-and-run vehicles, police said.

TRAFFIC

* 10:31 p.m. - A hitchhiker repeatedly entering Pelham Road in an effort to attract the attention of passing vehicles was not located by police.
