AMHERST — A Dover, Delaware woman was arrested on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a shopping carriage, after knocking another woman down at the entrance to an Amherst store Saturday afternoon, according to police.
Police responded to Big Y Supermarket, 175 University Drive, at 12:17 p.m. after getting a call from a customer who said his wife had been grabbed by another woman and thrown to the floor.
When officers got there, after receiving several other calls about the incident involving a woman wearing a gray shirt, green shorts and orange sandals, they determined that Heather P. Cunningham, 43, who was still at the entrance to the store, was the aggressor.
In addition to shoving the other woman at random, Cunningham also allegedly used a shopping carriage to knock the victim over, according to dispatch logs provided by police.
The victim’s husband told police his wife didn’t need medical attention.
