HADLEY — A banquet hall and convention center on Route 9 near the Coolidge Bridge, closed during most of the COVID-19 pandemic due to restrictions on gatherings, will not be reopening.

The Pioneer Valley Hotel Group recently announced the permanent closing of the 9,000-square-foot Hadley Farms Meeting House at the Hampton Inn Village Shops.

Opened in 2013, the site has been used for wedding receptions and funerals, conferences and meetings, and various celebrations, including the annual awards dinner put on by the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce.

Shardool Parmar, president of the family-owned company, said the building will be put to a new purpose later this year.

“We are working with a company to lease the property for another use and should have an announcement in the coming months,” Parmar said.

Anyone who had booked the space for a function has been notified, and all who made deposits have been fully refunded, he said.

In addition to the Hampton Inn, the Pioneer Valley Hotel Group continues to operate the Homewood Suites, at 340 Russell St. in Hadley, as well as the La Quinta in Springfield and the Holiday Inn Express in Ludlow.

The family closed the Rodeway Inn at 237 Russell St. in Hadley last April.
