I would like to go on record as endorsing Aaron Saunders for state representative in the newly created 7th Hampden District. Aaron Saunders brings excellent credentials to this position including all the experience and qualifications that would make him an outstanding fit to be a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives working on behalf of the 44,000 citizens who live in this district including the towns of Pelham, Shutesbury, New Salem, Wendell, Pertersham, Belchertown and Ludlow.
Aaron was the chief of staff for former State Sen. Gale Candaras, who represented all of Ludlow and Belchertown, among other towns and cities. In this capacity, he developed outstanding skills in solving constituent service problems. He also knows his way around Beacon Hill, including legislation and dealing with state officials. In addition, Aaron has seven years on the Ludlow Board of Selectmen, and has shown himself as someone who has strong support for town governments with a deep understanding of local municipalities, including schools, law enforcement, emergency services, land use, and public works. Aaron’s well-known commitment to ethics and accountability in government will promote an atmosphere of openness and honesty in governance.
Aaron is also an owner of a small business (brewery), who cares about the local economy, encouraging job creation, and maintaining strong payrolls. He is a husband, a parent of Belchertown school children, son of Ludlow parents, and graduate of Ludlow public schools and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The main focus of Aaron Saunders’ campaign includes protecting of our forests and rural communities, while encouraging expansion of solar generation to combat climate change; strengthening efforts to expand services against opioid addiction and promoting equity for western Massachusetts, cooperating with other legislators and a new Maura Healey administration.
