Catherine Etheridge: Bring back the clothes lines

It would be really good if we all had access to a few things we could do to decrease our carbon footprint. In a college town with a very large number of housing complexes, the simplest first step would probably be solar clothes dryers. We used to call them clothes lines. I can testify that clothes do dry even in very cold weather. The incentives for the landlord might be the attraction of ecologically concerned tenants, and the respect of his friends and peers. The incentives for the tenants would be living your values and saving several quarters. I hope my landlord is the first to adopt this idea.
