Thanks to all who put together the Martin Luther King Community Breakfast that was held last Saturday. (Fortunately the weather cooperated.) It seemed a bigger crowd than usual and there were several changes from prior years.

The food options were greater with porridge, quiche, home fries, parfait and juice served from punch bowls. Real plates were used not the yellow plastic trays.

The one drawback, two serving lines were needed. It took 90 minutes for everyone to be served.

The bench tables were gone in the cafeteria. The Individual padded chairs were much appreciated.

State Sen. Jo Comerford of Northampton and Rep. Mindy Domb of Amherst were at the breakfast and talking to everyone.

Mindy asked me to pass this message on to all. If anyone wants her to co-sponsor a bill, she is happy to oblige. To get support for legislation email her aide, Katie O’Leary at Kaitlin.OLeary@mahouse.gov.

You can see Mindy in person Jan. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bangs Center.

Indoor garden report: the amaryllis has opened. I have three primrose plants: pink, red and yellow. They are so welcome to look at especially since I didn't leave my house Sunday or Monday.

I had two adult snow days, read some books and broke down and vacuumed.

I hope your snow days were profitable and relaxing.
